New York Life Foundation

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill.

New York Life and its agents and employees share a core belief that we not only have the ability, but a responsibility to help keep the good things going in people's lives and in our communities.  Since its inception in 1979, the Foundation has provided over $200 million in charitable contributions to national and local nonprofit organizations.  We believe that we are only as strong as the community we serve, and in by giving back we help create a foundation for a strong community to build on, not just for our generation, but future generations to come.

Grants for Good

One of the primary areas where we support others to do good is through our grant-making efforts. Our grants, made primarily through the New York Life Foundation, focus on supporting local programs that nurture children, the community-based efforts that our agents and employees are involved in, as well as other programs that meet our grant guidelines.  To see if we can help your organization, please contact us

Give for Good

Our Give for Good initiatives include our Give for Good Giving Campaign, Matching Gifts Program, and Disaster Relief Program. Together these programs provide platforms for the generosity of our employees and agents across the country.

Volunteers for Good

Our agents and employees volunteer thousands of hours each year to help others in need. These efforts are coordinated by the Corporate Responsibility Department through three main programs: our year-round Volunteers for Good program and two annual initiatives—Month of Service and Season of Giving.
